Policy Positions:
1. Ensure Public Safety/Curbing Crime:
Americans have been suffering under soft-on-crime policies implemented by politicians who prioritize criminals over law-abiding citizens. Kevin will challenge the “defund the police” and “ACAB” narratives in Congress, securing federal funding for law enforcement initiatives to enhance community safety. He will also urge New York State to repeal pro-criminal policies that have led to record crime rates.
2. Securing OUR Borders and Addressing the Migrant Crisis/ National Security:
The Biden administration has compromised our national security both at the southern border and overseas. Weak leadership has led to conflicts in Europe and the Middle East, while the end of the Trump administration’s ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy and the adoption of ‘catch and release’ policies have triggered an unprecedented crisis at our southern border. Since 2021, over 6 million people have entered the U.S. illegally, prompting states of emergency across New York and the nation. Kevin will advocate for legislative solutions to secure the southern border and support policies that project American strength against adversaries like China, Russia, and Iran, ensuring a peaceful future.
3. Cost of Living/Affordability:
The increasing cost of living and affordability in the United States has many young Americans believing that the American dream is dead. New Yorkers pay more than any other state on taxes, which leaves them defenseless against the inflation caused by reckless fiscal policy in both Washington and Albany. Furthermore, overtaxation and overregulation of businesses has led to a loss of good paying jobs in New York, with our state leading the nation in outward migration. In Congress, Kevin will push smarter fiscal policy on the federal level, fight to bring grants into the Capital District for job creating projects, and put pressure on Albany to bring jobs into New York, rather than chase them away.
4. Addressing the Opioid and Mental Health Crisis:
In 2022, nearly 74,000 Americans died of an opioid overdose. In 2023, the DEA seized 77 million fentanyl pills and over 12,000 pounds of fentanyl powder: more than enough to kill every single american. Our opioid crisis is exasperated by our long ignored mental health crisis in America. Approximately half of all individuals suffering from substance use disorders have an underlying mental health disorder, which makes treatment and recovery significantly more difficult. Kevin believes in combating both crises by helping the victims through elimination of stigma and the funding of integrated care programs that address both addiction and mental health. Kevin also supports cracking down on the criminals who are poisoning our communities by passing laws that would classify dealing fentanyl as attempted murder and charging those who sell fentanyl to overdose victims with murder.
5. Smart Energy Policy:
While reducing carbon emissions is crucial, it should not come at the expense of American livelihoods. Kevin opposes New York State’s rapid energy conversion policies, which strain the electrical infrastructure. The state’s reliance on wind and solar, coupled with the shutdown of nuclear power, threatens farmers due to the large land requirements. Additionally, bans on gas-powered cars and mandates for electric heating will overburden the energy grid. Kevin will pressure Albany to halt these policies and fight against similar federal mandates. Additionally, the ban on the sale of gas powered cars by 2035 coupled with the proposed New York HEAT Act, which would force all homes to convert from gas to electric, will create too much of a burden on our state's energy grid to be sustainable. Kevin will pressure Albany to put a halt to these policies while fighting to prevent New York Democrats such as Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jefferies from forcing these disastrous policies on the rest of America.
6. Protecting Social Security, Medicare, and Veterans Services:
With the increasing cost of living, Kevin wants to ensure that our seniors and veterans have better accesses to resources available to them and will fight as a Congressman to support these federal programs.
7. Supporting Small Businesses and Farmers:
As a Congressman Kevin will fight against unfunded mandates on farmers and small businesses, and over regulation that puts undue burdens on businesses owners.
